In the meantime

Since my last post, life has been just passing us by. Lucas has been on the Pulmicort slurry for almost 2 months. He doesn't complain about taking. He rarely complains about taking any medications really. Unfortunately, he's so used to taking medicines that throwing in a new one here and there never really is a problem. However, he DID NOT like mixing the Pulmicort with the Splenda. He actually made himself throw up taking it. After seeking some suggestions via Facebook, we started mixing the Pulmicort with powdered Gatorade. He liked that mixture so much better, I bought him a 3lb container of the powdered Gatorade.

He recently asked me to make him "safe" mac n cheese. I went to rainbow Blossom on afternoon and bought all the ingredients and for dinner that night I made it for him. He loved it so much, he said, "There's a party in my belly." He ate it for dinner for a week straight. I'm so glad he was able to enjoy a "comfort food" that was safe.

The cookies and cake pops were curtesy of our favorite allergen friendly bakery, Annie May's Sweet Cafe. These yummy treats are allergen free and Lucas devoured them in no time flat. We are forever grateful and very loyal customers of Annie May's. So glad the bakery is local.

The above pics are from Easter and a day at the park. We didn't want Lucas to have a lot of candy for Easter. I'd much rather he have toys that he can play with then any candy that's unsafe for him. Fortunately, our family members asks me which candies were safe for him before Easter. So lucky for him, all the candy he did receive was safe. He was so excited that the Easter bunny brought him the Angry Birds game and the Star Wars Fighter Pods.

Lucas recently developed a crush on a girl at his school. He calls her his girlfriend. He says they are "love birds". Got to love preschool love.

We go back to Cincy towards the end of May for what will be his 5th scope. I'm hoping that the Pulmicort slurry has had a positive impact and shows that FINALLY we are heading in the right direction for treatment. I have noticed a significant decrease in his chronic cough, clearing of the throat, vomiting and regurgitating.
